They say

They say if I work hard I will get to the top,
So logically those at the bottom didn’t work hard.

They say if I go to school I’ll be important in future,
So logically those that didn’t go to school are not important.

They say if I use my talents I’ll be famous,
So logically those that are not famous don’t use their talents.

Don’t they know about people born into wealth, educated failures and untalented people getting picked over those who are? Don’t tell me about equality because we can never all be equal. Sometimes some are favoured others aren’t.

I guess they never see it that way...

  1. I remember telling my dad something similar and he said nobody tells their kid or a young person that they can't be equal to the wealthy child in their class or the that sometimes the "untalented" get promoted.

They arm the kid with the "I-can-do-it-if-i-work-hard" mentality and the world, if they allow it, gives them the excuses that turns them into losers or puts them in "their place".

The world molds those who allow it. (The last part is my conclusion) :D
